Enjoy these thoughtfully curated treats, made by incredible women- and BIPOC-led brands:
MEZCLA
Mezcla is a NYC-based brand of snacks that taste like a crispy treat and function like a protein bar. The bars are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, with 10g pea protein and 170 calories.
The snack company was born out of a friendship between its founders, Griffin Spolansky and Coco Sotelo, who met in a social entrepreneurship class at The University of Virginia. Griffin was a senior and Coco was a guest presenter. Together in Coco's kitchen, they created their first bar and called it "Mezcla" ("mixture" in Spanish) to represent the mixture of flavors and communities they were building.
Also, as social entrepreneurs, they made a commitment to give back with their business. Mezcla is a proud partner of The Hunger Project and is joining them on a mission to create a world without hunger.
OH MAZING GRANOLA
Oh-Mazing is a Black Woman owned business that passionately crafts small-batch granola snacks from their Washington, DC commercial kitchen.
Owner, Stephanie Williams, believes that snacks should be tasty, convenient and made from scratch, but she couldn’t find a brand that shared her values on the shelves at grocery stores. She launched Oh-Mazing specifically to transform granola into a nut-free and wheat-free snack that could serve as fuel for any adventure.
Since launching, Oh-Mazing has received a Good Food Award in the snack category for their commitment to environmental and social responsibility. They’ve also expanded throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia and now sell their products online!
ROUTE 11 POTATO CHIPS
Route 11 is a woman-owned potato chip company that has been making small batch potato chips for more than 25 years in a facility that was built from the ground up to be environmentally responsible as possible. (They even recycle the dirt off their potatoes!)
Founded by Sarah Cohen, Route 11 kettle cooks only 25lbs of chips at a time. This gives the potatoes space to develop lots of curl in the body and a perfect crunch. They burst with wholesome, natural potato flavor. Chips are finished by hand-seasoning them with intense, unique, or sometimes classic flavors, turning America's favorite snack food into an art form.
WHIMS DELIGHTS
Whims Delights was co-founded by husband-and-wife duo Leanne Viola and Jesse Barruch, both of whom were inspired to create plant-based, low-sugar treats after Leanne's personal health journey.
Whims' plant-based treats give you the best of both worlds: rich, delicious, creamy flavor and an unbelievably clean nutrition panel. Treat freely knowing their products are low sugar, dairy-free, gluten-free, and contains zero sugar alcohols or palm oil. No compromises, no second guessing yourself — just pure enjoyment.
Thank you for all the important work you do. Keep advocating, keep fighting—and keep snacking!
