Black Female Founded. With a mother's love and can-do-anything spirit - Denise Woodard founded Partake Foods. Denise's daughter Vivienne was diagnosed with severe food allergies as an infant. She was frustrated by the lack of options for healthy snacks that were safe to eat and delicious.
Growing up, Denise saw her African American father and Korean mother work really hard without complaining. They taught her that being a woman and a person of color, she has to work twice as hard as some of her counterparts. Now, with her daughter having food allergies she wasn't just going to complain. So, she left her corporate job and set out to make her own company that provides healthy, allergen-friendly, and delicious snacks - Partake Foods.
Social Impact. Getting safe food into the hands of food-insecure families with food allergies is a top Priority for Partake. Food allergies affect 1 in 13 children across our country, and according to Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), Black children are at a significantly higher risk of developing these allergies. Partake has partnered with the Food Equality Initiative to ensure families in need have access to food, education, and advocacy they deserve.
