September 12th is National Chocolate Milkshake Day! Talk about a great excuse to treat yourself. 😉 I celebrated with a curbside pickup from a local scoop shop.
I picked up a chocolate milkshake—topped with crushed Oreos—from Andy’s Frozen Custard. They have a drive-thru and walk-up windows, which makes ordering easy and safe during this time. I got the chocolate milkshake that’s made with blended frozen chocolate custard. And because I’m #extra, I added Oreos. I mean, why not? My husband got their summertime key lime concrete, which is made with an entire slice of key lime pie! I helped myself to a few spoonfuls, and it was so good, especially those bites with the bits of pie crust. Mmm… 🤤 I might have to get a key lime concrete before it leaves the summer menu!
Lucky for me, I have plenty of dessert options around my neighborhood, so it wasn’t too challenging to find a spot where I could celebrate today’s food holiday. For National Vanilla Milkshake Day, I treated myself to a vanilla shake with hot fudge and sprinkles from Scoop and Score, a Black-owned business serving the North Austin area.
