May 17th is World Baking Day. As you know, I’ve been baking the heck out of sourdough lately. It’s a journey, for sure, but I’m loving it. I’m also learning how to bake so many other things, like cookies and cakes and savory dishes… I never used to think of myself as a baker, but over the past year I’ve become more comfortable with using my oven. My baking skills have really grown, and I’m proud to say out loud that “I love baking.” 👩🏻🍳
There are a bunch of ways to observe World Baking Day. You could bake something sweet or something savory. Maybe bake a pie. Or bread. (In addition to sourdough, banana bread is also really popular these days!) Or how about something like a casserole? I’ve become very fond of tater tot hot dishes ever since I learned about them from Molly Yeh! I mean, who doesn’t love cheesy, meaty tater tots???
If you’re baking today, what treat are you making? Do you have a family recipe for an amazing baked dish? I’d love to know because I’m always on the lookout for new baking recipes to try.
Wishing everyone around the globe a very happy day of baking!
